As the crisis in the All progressive Congress, APC, rages, President Muhammadu Buhari has taken a stand as leader of the party, by favouring Victor Giadom, who has been parading himself as National Chairman of the APC after Adams Oshiomole was suspended as National Chairman of the party by the Court of Appeal.
After Oshiomole was suspended, the National Working Committee, NWC appointed former Governor of Oyo State and National Deputy Chairman (South), Abiola Ajimobi, as Acting National Chairman of the party. Ajimobi could not function due to ill health. In his place, Prince Hilliard Eta, was appointed to act on his behalf by the NWC.
But Giadom seems to be having the upper hand in the entire political melee rocking the APC,as he now has the backing of the President.
Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, had in a statement Wednesday said the President believes that the law is on the side of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman after receiving convincing advice. Shehu said the President will act in accordance with the law and will attend a virtual meeting Giadom called tomorrow afternoon.
The President’s position, seems to have revealed his body language and clearly indicates that the suspended National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole may have lost out completely in the power chess board in the APC.
