A Nigerian man has been arrested for breaching of peace and stoning policemen in Osun state. The man, Olamilekan Ayanwole, (25), assaulted a police patrol team on Saturday night around 11:10pm.

The incident happened in front of a Stanbic IBTC Bank in Lagere Area of Ile-Ife, Osun state, where Olamilekan (a member of the Eiye Confraternity) who is known as "cause trouble" attacked a team of policemen with stones when they were performing their duties. Two police corporals sustained head injury as a result of this and 1 corporal had his trouser pulled down by Olamilekan.

He was immediately arrested for this and an Indian hemp was also discovered in his pocket. He appeared before the Ile-Ife Magistrates Court on Monday where he pleaded not guilty to all the eight charges ruled out against him. He was however granted a bail of N100,000 with two sureties.

Olamilekan who had been terrorising the residents of Lagere in recent months is one of the top leaders of a cultist group in that area. He got angry and attacked policemen, yet he was not made to pay the price but granted bail as soon as possible.
