Earlier today, the Federal Government announced that schools should be opened for people that are preparing for their exams, the graduating classes.

Classes that are expected to resume are Primary 6, JSS 3 and the SSS 3 students to get prepared for their coming examinations.

Reacting to this news, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) through its president Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, has just kicked against the planned reopening of schools by the Federal Government of Nigeria due to the COVID-19 pandemic currently ravaging the country....

ASUU has warned against the reopening of schools across the country. Speaking through its national leadership, ASUU said many institutions do not have the financial potentials to meet the conditions given by the government.

Nigerians react to the news...

Okikiola Ositelu @AladuraPrimate says

Government should not listen to ASUU on parents & students interest & reopening of schools. ASUU was never interested in the welfare of students & their parents, but ONLY in the affairs of its members. It's good for Government to reopen schools on conditions & health guidelines.
