Abiola Ajimobi the former Governor of Oyo state is dead, he reportedly died in Lagos today June 25, 2020 due to coronavirus complications and other underlying medical conditions.

The 70 years old two term Governor of State who was also an then-senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria died in First Cardiology Hospital in Lagos fews days after he was reported to be in critical condition in the health facility.

The news of late Abiola Ajimobi ill health filtered in when a serving Senator, Adebayo Osinowo was announced death in the same medical facility.

Late Abiola Ajimobi who is a strong member of the ruling All Progressive Congress party was initially tipped to replace late Abba Kyari as President Muhammadu Buhari Chief of Staff until the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Gambari, also a day after the health status of late Abiola Ajimobi was made public, the All Progressive Congress also announced him as the acting National Chairman of the party following the suspension of Comrade Adams Oshiomole by the Appeal Court of Nigeria.

The late Senator Abiola Ajimobi until vis death today was the Deputy National Chairman (south west) for the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Abiola Ajimobi was always referred to as 'Constituted Authority' by the Oyo state locals during his time as governor, he was born December 16, 1949 in British Nigeria.
