In her podcast "Deep dive with Vanessa Mdee" the singer said the industry was wrapped in secrecy.
She also revealed that despite leaving the music industry, she would continue to attend shows.
She said, "I don't know who needs to hear this, but my mission is to be a light. I know I would probably disappoint some people, and that's fine, I know my fans don't want to hear this, but guess what, I'm never too far away from you, believe me.
"The reason I had to leave the industry is because I had to choose my life, the music industry is demonic. People will tell you the half-truth about what's really going on and the truth is that I just want to be a champion of honesty and beauty and a sincere advocate of what confrontation with your demons can do for you.
"Now my fans are probably wondering right now: Will you never sing or act again? Let me say this: I love music, I love acting, but maybe I was a vessel to be here at this moment and have gone through all that I have gone through so that I can tell my fans the truth about things that they will never know anywhere else.
