Today, tuesday 29 June 2020, is the last day of Nigeria's second phase of the eased lockdown. The Federal Government is expected to announce the next step, that is, the third phase of eased lockdown in the country tomorrow, Tuesday 30th June 2020.
The chairman of the presidential task force on Covid-19, and Secretary of the federation boss Mustapha, disclosed that the task force members met with the president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retired), at the Aso Rock today.
The personal assistant on news media to buhari, Bashir Ahmed, said in a tweet, that as the members of the presidential taskforce on Covid-19 has submitted their recommendations to the president for approval, the next line of action will be announced tomorrow, Tuesday 30th June 2020.
There are speculations that the government may tighten up lock down again, because of continuous rise in the daily number of faces. Many are also of the opinion that the following measures can be adopted by FG, instead of another lockdown.
Wearing of face or nose mask should remain compulsory and defaulters should be penalized by competent authorities. Schools should still remain on lockdown. Large religious gatherings should be strictly curtailed and ensure that those allowed to open observe all the guidelines and comply with every expected measures to stop the spread of the virus.
Burials and weddings should still remain among family members, and no more than 50 person in attendance. Interstate boarder closure should still be enforced. International boarders should remain closed. Only essential activities should be allowed.
