Daniel Hernandez popularly known by his stage name Tekashi 6ix9ine(pronounced six nine) born may 8th 1996, is an American rapper,songwriter and convicted felon. The American rapper who was arrested alongside with five other men on 18th of November november 2018, following a five-year joint investigation by the Department of Homeland security(DHS), the New York police Department(NYPD), and the Bureau of Alcohol,Tobacco, firearms and explosives(ATF), charged for racketeering, carrying a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy murder charges. Racketeering is when people use criminal actions to repeatedly take money from others, often associated with protection rackets.
Upon his bail, 6ix9ine was denied bail and he initially pleaded not guilty to all charges against him. He later changed his plea to guilty after agreeing a deal with law enforcement on February 1st, 2019. The guilt plea in 6ix9ine admitting his guilt and testifying against his co-defendants, as well as full co-operation and an insistence to commit no further crimes, in exchange for reduced prison time, on December 18th 2019, 6ix9ine was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment avoiding a potential minimum sentence of 47 years. 6ix9ine was originally said to be released on the 18th of November 2020 but was later released in April 2020. The 23-year-old initially denied the charges but entered a plea bargain, giving evidence against other gang members in order to get a reduced sentence.
The rapper had been facing a minimum of 47 years and a maximum of life in prison but the plea bargain means he could be released around November 2020.
He testified against former members of Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.
It all came from his association with a violent US gang Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods - also known as TreyWay - which 6ix9ine previously mentioned on Twitter.
He joined the gang in 2017 but left less than a year later.
The inner workings of the gang was exposed by 6ix9ine - and another ex-gang member, Kristian Cruz.
Nine Trey Bloods committed robberies, dealt drugs and were violent against rivals and each other according to their testimonies.
6ix9ine gave information on Anthony Ellison and Aljermiah Mack and both men have since been convicted .
Ellison was also found guilty of kidnapping 6ix9ine, maiming and assault - while Mack was also found guilty on drug dealing charges. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
The rapper was later released because of the coroner virus pandemic concerns, his lawyer Lance Lazzaro asked engelmayer to release him, claiming Hernandez asthma made him particularly susceptible to coroner virus which spreads through the kind of close contact that's inherent in jail and prison, At that time engelmayer expressed concern for 6ix9ine, writing that he did not know and could not have known that the final four months of Mr Hernandez's sentence could be served at a time of a wide pandemic to which persons with asthma like Mr Hernandez have heightened vulnerability to. He was then released and is said to serve the rest of the sentence on home confinement.
Funny how the pandemic can actually be to the advantage of some.6ix9ine was lucky enough to have escaped that one.
