Covid-19: Isolation Centers, Compulsory for the Reopening of Schools. Says FG
Federal Government recently rolled out their planned conditions necessary to be implemented by all Schools in the country prior to the expected resumption of academic institution.
The Honorable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu submitted the 36 page document containing the planned conditions tittled "GUIDELINES FOR SCHOOLS AND LEARNING FACILITIES REOPENING AFTER COVID19 PANDEMIC CLOSURE" to the Senate for this perusal and legislative backing.
In his forward to the document, the Honorable minister described the conditions as key strategies for implementing safe, efficient, and equitable plans for school reopening and operations, noting that Covid19 may be with us for a while, the guidelines also highlights the urgent need to maintain and improve upon distance learning programs.
He further emphasized that “The Major plank of the conditionalities is that Schools must CREATE IMMEDIATE TEMPORARY COVID19 ISOLATION SPACE BEFORE THEY CAN BE CONSIDERED TO REOPEN"
Academic Institutions are also mandated to ensure the set up and maintenance of a school COVID19 Referral system including protocols and procedures to take learner's , lecturers, Administrators and other Education personnel become unwell while in schools including adequately equipped dispensaries and clinics.
This is the hope of millions of students scattered across the country. What next we expect is the exact date schools will finally reopen.
