Jss3, Ss3 and Final Year Students in the following States should take note of this information
There are some States Government in Nigeria that have given important update on the resumption of students in the terminal classes; Primary six (Pry 6), Junior Secondary School three (Jss3), Senior Secondary School (Ss3).
More than 3 States Governments have given information about the resumption of schools and what all the returning students are expected to do. This article is written to inform those who miss the information and others who might have forgotten what they must do before they resume back to school.
The President of the Country, President Buhari has given the directive that any States Government that wish to re-open school activities within its jurisdiction can now do so as he lifts the ban on lockdown in Nigeria, especially in the three states that are regarded as the epicenters of the outbreak in Nigeria; Ogun State, Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Following the directive, Four States Governments have given update on the date that schools will be re-opened. As some of us may have known the three states already; Oyo State, Borno State, Cross Rivers but not aware of the recent information for all the students.
I will start with Oyo State Government. The Oyo State Govenrment, under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde has released a circular that states that all the students in the following classes; Primary 6, Jss3 and Ss3 should resume school on the 6th of July while their teachers must resume a week before which is next week Monday.
Governor Seyi Makinde claims that the State has already enlightened more than 300 Head Teachers from various schools across the state on how to manage the school amid the pandemic. Also, Governor Makinde states that all Schools must appoint a staff as Incident manager who will ensure that all the students comply with the stipulated guidelines.
Also, all other students in various classes will resume on the 15th on July if the students in the terminal classes have a commendable compliance, otherwise they may have to wait till September before they reopen.
As for Borno State, the State Government has announced that Schools will be opened but just three would be opened first in Bama to see how their plan to re-open other schools will be feasible.
Also, Cross Rivers State announced that schools will resume on the 12th day of June 2020 which has been postpone as it is no longer feasible. But, new date will be communicated soon.
So, all the students in the terminal classes mentioned above should take note of the following, especially the ones in Oyo:
They should be on Nose-Mask throughout their stay in the school premises and try as much as possible to get a pocket-sized hand sanitizer for regular hand cleaning.
They should start reading their books now because their examinations are already at their door steps.
The most important of all is that you should all know that would not be any candidate sitting next to you during your exams. Therefore, no help from anyone during the exam. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
