CRIME WATCH: Two Suspected Arm Robbers Caught with Guns in Ondo State
Following the unpalatable threat to livelihood by criminal element in our nation, there is an urgent need for reorientation of the populace on self defence mechanisms. The rate of criminal activities is alarming just recently a filling station in Akure, Ondo state's capital was attacked by gunmen leaving one person dead.
The said filling station located along Oba-Ile Road area of the city was attacked late in the night on Tuesday. Though the gunmen did not succeed in robbing the filling station, however the incident led to serious confusion in the area as people scampering for safety.

In a statement credited to the state's police spokesperson, Tee-Leo Ikoro he said two suspects were arrested not far from the scene where the incident of the crime was reported, the two suspected armed rubbers were caught with a rifle, a locally made gun, some cartridges and life ammunitions, however other two suspected members of the gang who escaped are being trailed by the police.
He further assured that "With the intervention of policemen, the two arrested armed robbers and the others aloof will be brought to justice.
Also commending the low rate of crime in Ondo state, he said "There hasn’t been such an attack in Ondo State, that is to tell you that the rate of crime in Ondo State is minimal, and with this occurrence our men immediately swung into action, leading to the arrest of two of the hoodlums."
