Sad Day For Oyo State, Ex- Governor Ajimobi Passes Away

It is a sad day for the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the news making the round is that the party Acting National Chairman is dead.

Senator Abiola Ajimobi who was a former governor of Oyo State is reportedly dead at the age of 70.

Earlier this week, the Former Governor was appointed the Acting National Chairman of the ruling party- All Progressive Congress (APC) by party National Working Committee (NWC) after the court upheld the suspension of the party chairman - Adams Oshiomhole.

According to available reports, Senator Ajimobi reportedly died of coronavirus complications  

The ex-lawmaker is said to have fallen ill after he tested positive to Covid-19 infection. It's said that before his death, he was in a critical condition. 

Senator Ajimobi ruled the southwest state of Oyo for eight years, after his tenure, Adams Oshiomhole appointed him as the Deputy National Chairman (South -West) of All Progressive Congress.

Before he ventured into politics, Ajimobi served as the Managing Director at the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company, which is a subsidiary of oil giant Shell Petroleum Company.
