1.Edo 2020: Rivers Court Strikes Out Suit Against Obaseki

A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt on Wednesday has struck out a suit seeking to bar Governor Godwin Obaseki from contesting the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship primary scheduled for Thursday.

The Court took the decision after parties to the suit agreed out-of-court settlement and withdrew the matter which was before Justice E. O Obile.

2.Ondo: INEC Rejects APC’s Primary Election Notice

The Independent National Electoral Commission has rejected the notice of governorship primary sent to it by the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The electoral body hinged its decision on the fact that the notice was signed by only the party’s acting national secretary.

3.Demolition: Nigeria Won’t Engage In Street Fight With Ghana – Presidency

President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, has noted that the Federal Government of Nigeria would not engage in a street fight with Ghana over the demolition of the building in the premises of the Nigeria High Commission in Accra.

The President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity stated this on Wednesday during an interview with State House correspondents.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday endorsed Victor Giadom as the acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The President noted that his decision is based on the rule of law.

6.NSCDC Confirms Arrest Of 27-Year-Old Man For Raping 3-Month-Old Baby

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the arrest of a 27-year-old man identified as Ahmadu Yaro for raping a three-month-old baby.

Yaro was arrested by the Nasarawa State Command of the NSCDC in Adogi village of Nasarawa State.

7.APC Insists Giadom’s NEC Meeting Illegal Despite Buhari’s Endorsement

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Waziri Bulama, has described the National Executive Committee (NEC) called by Victor Giadom as illegal.

President Muhammadu Buhari had backed Giadom as the authentic Acting National Chairman of the APC while promising to attend the virtual NEC meeting scheduled for Thursday at the Presidential Villa.

The Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Mr. Alex Okoh made disclosure in Abuja on Wednesday while inaugurating the sub-committee of the implementation committee for the postal sector reform, restructuring & modernisation of NIPOST at the Bureau’s corporate head office.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) acting National Chairman, Hilliard Eta, has raised the alarm that certain persons are planning to send thugs from Port Harcourt to burn down the party’s national secretariat.

Speaking to newsmen on telephone at the secretariat, the National Vice Chairman (South-south) alleged that apart from the the planned arson, some people are also after his own life.
