Just In: Abia state govt gives EFCC 7 days Ultimatum to remove seal from state properties
The government of Abia state have just given the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission seven (7) days Ultimatum to remove all Seal from the assets of the state government. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
In his statement today 29th June, the Commissioner for Justice who also doubles as the Attorney General of the state government, Mr. Uche Ihediwa said that the sealed assets by the Agency are all properties of the state government which were lawfully entered into partnership agreement with investors whom are now becoming scared away by the recent development.
He therefore gives the Commission 7 days ultimatum to remove their seal from the government properties or will be charged to court for unlawfully sealing governments assets without interrogation nor writing to the state government for further clarification.
The sealed properties by the Agency are: Abia Hotels and Linto Estate, Ogwumabiri (former Umuahia township market), Old Timber Market, Abia Mall, Adelabu Housing Estate and the Millennium Luxury. We should note that all these assets are in Umuahia the state capital.
