Former Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, Is Dead
Former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, is dead. He died as a result of Covid-19 complications. A source close to him said his organs collapsed since last week, but the family decided not to remove the life support placed on him. The Constituted Authority, as he is porpularly called, succumbed to death today, Thursday.
He was a former senator under the All Nigerians Peoples Party, and also a two term governor of Oyo State.
Ajimobi was born on December 16,f949, in Ibadan. He was the former director of National oil and Chemical marketing company. He left the oil sector after twenty-six years, and he was elected as a senator in 2003, under the platform of Alliance for Democracy, where he was the minority
In 2007, he contested for the gubernatorial seat, under the All Nigeria people's party(ANPP),but he lost out. In 2011, he recontested, and he won.
