Some Students Can Now Resume School As FG Makes Exceptions In Revised COVID-19 Guidelines

The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has sanctioned what it called “safe reopening” of schools in the country in the next phase of the gradual easing of lockdown ordered to curb further spread of coronavirus disease.

The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, revealed this at the daily briefing of the task force in Abuja today.

Mustapha said that the resumption of schools was only meant for students in graduating classes, final year students, resume preparation for examinations.

He also said that the second phase of the gradual easing of the lockdown in the country has been prolonged by four weeks.

“I am glad to inform you that President Buhari has carefully considered the 5th Interim Report of the Presidential Task Force and has approved it accordingly".

The government also lifted the ban on interstate travel.

Interstate travels can, however, only be done outside curfew hours with effect from July 1, 2020.
