Barthiwu 06/24/2020

Following the recent withdrawal of candidacy and a further stepping down from running for the PDP gubernatorial flag bearer position by the Edo House of Representatives Member representing Oredo Federal Constituency, Hon Omoregie Ogbeide Ihama, it would be seen that incumbent Governor of Edo State, Gov Godwin Obaseki will eventually become the sole competitor and invariably become the flagbearer for the PDP in the upcoming Edo Governorship Election.

It should also be noted that earlier today, all other members vying for the position to be the one to lead the party in the forthcoming election, alongside Hon Omoregie all made a unanimous decision to step down and let the Governor represent them all in the interest of the party and that of the state at large.

Hon Omoregie also promised to finally withdraw the court case he filled against the action today.

It should be noted that earlier this month, Gov Godwin Obaseki lost his political seat with the APC and thereby lost his ticket to be the APC candidate. It's should also be noted that he lost all these to his past opponent, Osage Ize-Iyamu, who was then the flagbearer for PDP. But it seems right now that they will be competing against each other for the second time but in the opposite teams.
