Oshimen Wins African Best Player in France

Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen, has won the 2020 Marc-Vivien Foe prize, seeing off rivalry from countryman, Simon Moses of Nantes. 

Different players who were additionally in conflict for the prize incorporate Denis Bouanga (Saint-Etienne), Andy Delort (Montpellier), Islam Slimani (Monaco), Rennes' trio of Mbaye Niang, Hamari Traore and Edouard Mendy. 

Osimhen's club, Lille praised the Nigerian on the honor in a tweet on their handle. 

"Lord Victor Osimhen!" Lille said. "Well done to our Super Eagles striker who wins the 2020 Prix Marc Vivien Foe [prize] as the best African player in Ligue 1."

'An Honor' 

Talking in the wake of winning the honor, the player portrayed it as a respect, including that it is incredible for the prize to remain in Lille. 

"That makes me upbeat," he disclosed to Radio France International (RFI). "It is a respect to be among the champs of this Prize, when we see the individuals who got it before me, as Nicolas Pépé a year ago. 

Pepe, from Ivory Coast, won the prize a year ago while at Lille. 

The honor is out of appreciation for Marc-Vivien Foé (who drooped while playing for Cameroon in a Confederations Cup semi-last match on 26 June, 2003). 

Moment Impact 

Since joining Lille from Sporting Charleroi in Belgium, as a trade for Ivory Coast star, Nicolas Pepe (who moved to Arsenal) the previous summer, Osimhen has scored 18 objectives and six aids 38 games. 

He is the subsequent Nigerian, after Vincent Enyeama (2014), to win the Marc-Vivien Foe prize.
