According to a reliable source, Vincent Foucher; a popular Boko Haram analyst, the shake-up in the ISWAP command hierarchy has seen Khalifa steps down as wali (leader of the section), and Ba Lawan replacing him.

Meanwhile, Abu Musab al Barnawi, the son of Boko Haram founder who was toppled last year of his position and once rumoured to be dead, is now the Amirul Jaysh (leader). While, Mustapha Krimima is named the new head of Sharia and Abubakar Mainok head of finance.

As at the time of filing this report, the personnel appointed for Amir amniyya, Amir hisbah and other line up could not be determined.

“So it seems the two main factions have reached a deal, trying to get every one on board... Impressive how that organisation can handle very VERY serious internal tensions (until the next internal purge, I guess).” Vincent Foucher wrote on his twitter page.
