Ajimobi who was the governor of Oyo state for 8 years, from 2011 to 2019, was name as the acting Acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress last week but never resumed.

He was said to have tested negative for COVID-19 but the illness had caused his health to deteriorate.

He was said to have been managing the disease at home before the situation worsened and he had to go to a hospital.

According to a source closer to the family said the former governor have diabetes and other ailments.

Ajimobi's aid, Bolaji Tunji, did not respond to telephone calls.
