Meet The New President Of Nigerian Court Of Appeal.

On March 5th 2020, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Justice Monica Dongbem Mensem as the acting president of the Nigerian court of appeal after the retirement of Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa.

View pictures in App save up to 80% data. On June 3, 2020, the national judicial council recommended her to the president for confirmation as appeal court president. Her appointment was finally confirmed by the Nigerian Senate on 11th June , 2020.

Justice Monica Dongbem Mensem was sworn in on Friday 19 June 2020 by the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Tanko Mohammed.

She is the daughter of M.B Douglas Mensem a retired court of appeal judge.She gain her LL.B and LL.M at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria before moving to London where she went for her post graduate diploma at the institute of advanced legal studies. thanks

She served as a visiting lecturer to the press law of Catholic media center kaduna from 1988-1992 and part time lecturer at the University of jos from 1989-1997.

From 1990-1993 she was the deputy chief registrar superior court and protocol affairs. She was appointed judge by the high court of Justice plateau judiciary in 1993-1996.

She then serve as the preciding justice of court of appeal Enugu division.

She is a active member of special marshal in Nigeria. Mother of four with two grand children
