Federal Government Slashes Marriage Licence Fees

View pictures in App save up to 80% data. The Federal Government has authorized the devaluation of marriage licence fees in Nigeria.

Mr Mohammed Manga (Director Press and Public Relations) revealed this in a statement on Monday 29th June 2020.Mr Mohammed stated that the Minister of Interior , (Rauf Aregbesola ) as making the revelation in a Public Notice approved by the Permanent administrator and Prominent Registrar of Marriages in the country.

Mr Mohammed authorized that the devaluation of marriage license fees accountable for services related to the Statutory Marriage under the Marriage Act CAP M 6 LFN 2004 to begin from Wednesday ,1st of July 2020 .

Mr Mohammed further revealed that “for the Revampment of Marriage Licence by a Place of general Worship , the amount of N 5 , 000 has been authorized every year , payable for 3years at every step , as against former charges of N 30 , 000 annually ” .

Mohammed also added that “ the fees accountable for Statutory common Marriage has also been slashed from twenty one thousand(21,000) to fiveteen thousand (15, 000 ) while Statutory Special Licence has been reduced from Thirty five thousand (N35, 000) to twenty five thousand (N 25, 000) ” .
