Those who make good use of history avoids pitfalls and banana peels of today and tomorrow.

APC's NEC decision to ratify the earlier primary election, conducted by a faction of the party, smacks of a smart move to avoid a repeat of 2019 Rivers and Zamfara incident.  View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

Obaseki and Ize-Iyamu

By the nature of PDP and APC primary elections in Edo state for the upcoming guber election, it is beyond debate that the validity of the nomination and sponsorship of both parties candidates, cannot be questioned by anybody at any court.

For the simple reason that they both contested unopposed, hence there were no other aspirants, that would have had locus to initiate action in the court. Courtesy of section 87(9) of the Electoral Act 2010.

Some are insinuating that since Chief Victor Giadom, sacked acting chairman of APC, rejected the said primary and even wrote a letter to INEC not to recognize it; I want to personally make it clear that the law is very clear on who can challenge the outcome of a primary election, only an aspirant in the primary. Who also can only complain of violation of the party's Constitution or guideline. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

The letter is of no consequence as by provision of section 31 of the EA 2010 INEC has no say in how or who the party wishes to nominate or sponsor in the election. All that had transpired prio to submission of names of candidates are internal affairs of the party.  View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

As it stands now, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is the unopposed flagbearer Of the All Progressive Congress, For the Edo September gubernatorial election while Governor Godwin Obaseki, is the Governorship candidate of the people’s Democratic Party.

Congratulations to both candidates for scaling the first huddle.
