A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Tonye Princewill has lampooned the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan over a comment credited to him on the outcome of the All Progressives Congress, APC, emergency National Executive Council, NEC, meeting.
The former governorship contestant in Rivers State said Ologbondiyan was suffering from Coronavirus for asking Governor, Mai Mala Buni to resign as governor of Yobe state.
Princewill maintained that there is nothing unconstitutional or conflicting in Buni serving as interim chairman of APC, the setting of the interim committee is based on a sound legal footing, he added.
He noted that if Ologbondiyan now asking for the resignation of the governor shows clear evidence that he needs to be tested for Coronavirus..
The chieftain said the opposition ought to act like a serious opposition and to stop acting like comedian. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
In his words, Princewill said:
"First the interim committee set up by the NEC on the basis of the advice of Mr. President is based on a sound legal footing, as contained in the same constitution to which he refers. In Article 13, section 3 subsection vi.
"In subsection iii of the same section, we are reminded that: “Decisions of the National Executive Committee shall be binding on all
“Till then, he should find something else to criticize. Something that is more believable. The NEC also appointed Buni as the Chairman of the Convention planning committee. Perhaps they should have all resigned as
Governors too? This is not opposition. It’s a comedy.”
Recalled that the PDP on Friday asked Buni to resign his position as governor because he has violated the APC’s law.
Ologbondiyan said Gov. Buni has made himself a full administrative officer with his appointment, hence he should resign honourable as governor of Yobe state.
The party spokeman also berated President Muhammadu Buhari for allegedly using the Federal Executive Council (FEC) Chambers and government resources to conduct the All Progressives Congress (APC) affairs.
