Just like everyone else, I have been following this Hushpuppi and Interpol case as it unfolded, but I decided not to publish anything till now. I was enraged by those saying he might still be innocent and the likes.

Some ignorant people even made it about tribalism saying that Yoruba people just want to keep taking out all the "succesful" Igbo men out there. I sincerely don't know how people can blindfold their eyes (of their own accord) to evil and downplay it as something else.

Then I realised that this is a typical Nigerian thing, from our politicians, internet fraudsters to rape cases, we are known for trying to cover up culprits, as far as they are related to us or we benefit from them in one way or the other.

Now, that the fowl's behind has been completely blown by the breeze, some apologists are saying that he should have lived a life away from social media, he should have stopped at a point and invested the money in something else, he should have... bla bla bla... I mean how did it get this bad?

For those who are not aware of the recent development in Hushpuppi's case, the internet fraud lord that was earlier detained by Interpol has been charged with scamming about 1.9million people of their hard earned money, reaching to about $435.6 million (AED 1.6 billion) in revenue.

Even, some governments don't have up to this amount in their reserves, yet these group of miscreants found it very easy to go to bed every night knowing that they were bringing untold pain to many.

The operation that brought them down is known as the Fox Hunt 2, which was carried out by Dubai Police and entailed keeping a close watch on the activities of Hushpuppi and his crew, their social media lives and flaunting, as well as other suspicious activities. A documentary of their activities and arrest was released today is making the rounds all over the media.

We all saw how this notorious fellow flaunted his questionable wealth on social media, many praised him, many solicited help from him, many even called him hardworking, successful, diligent, excellent and other ill-befitting titles, we saw how he lied that he was into real estate, we saw all those shenanigans.

Now we see his arrest, we see everything happening right before our eyes, we see the evidence of his dealings,we see the level of damage he has done, and some cannot help but still side with him. I mean, how much have we decided to erode our conscience? I am never one to be too emotional or one-sided about a topic, but I don't mind breaking the rules in this instance. What he did over the years is not just illegal, but also evil and should not be pardoned, condoned or excused. Period!

Now, Hushpuppi is Trending on Twitter and I'll be kind enough to show you some people's reactions to the whole issue, some just like me are enraged at the audacity and happy at the indictment, while others keep blurting out ignorant assertions.
