1. EDO TRADITIONAL ATTIRE.

This traditional attire is likely to be the most popular traditional attire in Nigeria, this attire belongs to the Edo-Benin tribe that existed even before Nigeria was formed.

They have a very rich cultural heritage headed by an Oba, the edo people are generally colourful and elegant, their attire consists of bright red wrappers and beads on the head, neck, waist and even ankles. Their attire is such a beautiful reflection of their traditions and cultural heritage.


2. YORUBA TRADITIONAL ATTIRE.

Another popular traditional attire in Nigeria belongs to the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, this tribe with rich mythological history dating back to oduduwa as their earliest ancestors, they dominate the south western and north central parts of Nigeria.

They are generally jovial and party loving people, their monarchial system revolves around the Ooni of Ife and Alaafin of Oyo who are regarded as the custodians of Yoruba culture.

The Igbo tribe is one of the major tribes in Nigeria, the Igbos are highly creative and technical in nature, they are also very hardworking and successful people, they are ruled by an Igwe or Eze. They are generally classy and expensive people, they can virtually be found in any part of the world.

Their traditional attires are simple as the males simply wear a plain trouser and blouse while the females tie wrappers with head gear or they adorn their heads with beads.

Another tribe with similar attire are the Ibibio, these people form a minority group in Nigeria but they have a rich cultural essense. They inhabit some of the most beautiful cities in Nigeria like Uyo and Calabar.

They are ruled by an Obong and they have a wide variety of foods in their culture, their dress sense is elegant and charismatic.

The Ijaw people are the 4th largest tribe in Nigeria, they inhabit the south southern parts of Nigeria, they live generally in riverine areas.

They are headed by a traditional leader with the title Pere, these people are generally fearless and bold people.

Their traditional attire is similar to that of the Itsekiri, Urhobo and Isoko people.
