Buhari Backs Victor Giadom As APC Acting National Chairman. Set To Attend NEC Meeting He Convened

President of the Federal Republic Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari is set to attend the National Executive Council meeting of the ruling All Progressive Congress convened by the Acting National Chairman Victor Giadom. According to the statement made by the political correspondent of Channels TV on his verified Twitter handle, the Presidency confirms that President Buhari believes the law is on the side of Victor Giadom as the Acting National Chairman of the party. The APC NEC won't be unconnected with the recent crisis the party has passed through since Adams Oshiomhmole was suspended as the National Chairman of the party. The National Executive Council meeting which is expected to hold electronically will have the President who is the leader of the party in attendance. Yesterday, the Nigerian Police barricaded the entrance of the National Secretariat of the APC in order to avoid the breakdown of law and order. The drama that has played out in the APC since Oshiomhole was suspended is one that needs the attention of stakeholders in the party.

Last week, three Acting National Chairman emerged from APC. Senator Abiola who is the Deputy Chairman South was appointed by the NWC of the party to act as the Chairman. Victor Giadom declared himself the Acting National Chairman of the party base on a court judgement that empowered him to take over. Later same day, Hilliard Eta who is the Vice Chairman of APC South South was appointed to act on behalf of Abiola Ajimobi who was unavailable on health issues. The APC needs to put its house in order as the Edo and Ondo Governorship election approaches. The Independent National Electoral Commission has already reminded APC that it has not fulfilled the requirements of the law which is having its National Chairman signature on the letter it wrote it on its proposed Governorship primary in Ondo.  The electoral body warned that APC may not have a candidate in Ondo elections if it doesn't fulfil all the legal requirements.
