Ondo Guber: All Eyes On Ife Oyedele As He Submits Nomination Form In Abuja

The jostling for who becomes the next Governor of Ondo State in the forthcoming gubernatorial election slated for October this year is getting more interesting by the day.

In Abuja on Wednesday at the National Secretariat of the All Progressive Party(APC), Engr. Ife Oyedele, who is currently an Executive Director at the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited, was the cynosure of all eyes as he picked nomination form for the contest and submitted same, after having paid the amount of N22.5milliin for the ticket.

An astute politician and long standing associate of President Muhammadu Buhari who was one of the Trustees of his party, Congress for Progressive Change(CPC) prior to the 2015 Presidential Election, stormed the party Secretariat with a mammoth crowd of over 250 supporters.

.Leading the pack of the supporters was the APC National Vice Chairman, Southwest, Pastor, (Barrister) Bankole Oluwajana, and a coterie of other key politicians in the state.

Also In his entourage were four Speakers of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kenneth Olawale, Rt. Hon. Ayo Agbomuserin, Rt. Hon. Bimbo Fajolu, and Rt. Hon. Victor Akinwe as well as DIG Adeyemi Jemilusi.

They all trooped into the parry secretariat at exactly 12:30pm amidst his hailing supporters who joined in dancing to the popular Ikale cultural troupe called *BIRIPO*, even as banners of different designs adorned the gate of the whole premises.

Moments later, Engr Oyedele matched to the Office of the Organizing Secretary, where the team was intoduced by the National Vice-Chairman, Southwest who vouched for the character of the contestant in superlative adjectives.

He was later led to the office of the National Secretary, Arc. Waziri Bulama, where he signed and submitted his nomination form.

Addressing newsmen later at the APC Media Centre, Engr. Ife Oyedele spoke about the embarrassing state of governance in Ondo State and the need for total overhauling of every sector of Government, vowing to dislodge the incumbent Governor Akeredolu.

He stated that it is not enough to talk about the ills of the state, saying he has a blue print to change the sad narrative of the State.

He promised to revamp some defunct industries to boast employment. He also promised to pay special attention to Agriculture, especially Cocoa and planting of Kenaf in Ondo to start production of jute bags to boost the state economy, adding that the resuscitation of Olokola farm settlement will top his priorities.

Oyedele also spoke ,briefly about the activities of the Unity Group and how he came distant first in all the screening exercise by presenting a workable manifesto and an intimidating profile but the leadership picked an aspirant who did not present a single document. 

When asked about how much criticism he will be able to take as a Governor. He answered by saying "I am a product of criticism, I am never afraid of criticism because it is part of life. I submit decision making to all available constructive criticism.

let wait and see the outcome of primary election, and what I know is ife is not a well known in ondo state that means it will be very hard to win primary election.
