Avoid these 5 Mistakes and prevent hair Damage
We can all agree that hair damage is never a good thing! Unfortunately ladies, what we don’t realise is the wear and tear we put our hair through.
This includes heat styling, aggressive brushing, sun, UV and environmental damage like dust and pollution as well as an improper wash routine. All these factors contribute to hair damage. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
We bet, you have either dealt or are still dealing with dry and damaged hair issues and finding a permanent solution to reverse this doesn’t come easy. But but but, as always, BHH to the rescue with an absolute list of‘don’t’s’ to prevent hair damage.
1. Using Products With Alcohol
Say ‘no’ to products with high alcohol content. These products dry out your hair, ultimately making it weak. Breakage is another big issue here. So yes ladies, save your hair from such products. The next time you are out to pick your product, make sure you go through the ingredients’ list at the back. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
Check for any mention of alcohol or its proportions. What you need to be looking for are products with natural ingredients like wheat protein, aloe, shea butter, argan, olive or coconut oil. Also, ingredients like vitamin A and E to Vitamin D benefit out hair and help provide nourishment and strength. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
Word is, the Temple and Nape Gro Balm is one such product packed with the goodness of most of the ingredients mentioned above and it was developed by Dr.Miracle to stimulate healthy hair growth at the hairline & nape area. Maybe give it a shot on your next product shopping spree? And see the good results for yourself! Something tells us you’re going to love it over any of those alcohol-loaded variants that you’ve been using thus far. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
2. The Wrong Hair Wash Routine
So what if you believe in your hair wash routine like a sacred book! But when it comes to hair care, you can’t be making these foolish mistakes. We don’t want to be the ones saying, “We told you so!” At BHH we believe that prevention is better than cure, so you better be taking notes here. Do not use hot water to wash your hair, but use lukewarm water instead. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
Also, if you are applying your shampoo from root to tip, you have obviously been doing it incorrectly all this while! Sorry to burst your bath-bubble, but shampoo is meant to be applied only to your scalp, so use a mild shampoo to gently cleanse your scalp and rid it of any product build up without losing your natural oils. Please resist the temptation of rigorously rubbing it into your hair, but massage gently using your finger tips in circular motion. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
3. Skipping The Conditioner
Never ever…we repeat, never ever skip your conditioner. Every shampoo should be followed up by a good conditioning ritual. Emulsifying the conditioner from mid lengths to ends of your hair. Again, the conditioner is the one meant for your hair only, not for your scalp! Conditioners not only prevent hair damage, but it also makes your hair feel soft, smooth, helps with detangling and combing and forms a protective layer on your hair whilst adding shine.
Now why on earth would anyone skip all these benefits? Be sure to always prep your hair with a product such as Dr.Miracle’s Leave-In Conditioner. It is the perfect prep that precedes any kind of styling. Not only forms a protective layer on your hair but also nourishes it and leaves it looking healthy and shiny. As a plus we also witnessed some instant detangling and hydrated curls on application of this product. With aloe vera and coconut oil, there had to be no second guessing there!
4. Heat Styling
Yes! We are aware that styling can be difficult without heat styling tools but you definitely need to limit the number of times that heated appliances touch your hair. Not only does heat styling result in dry damaged hair, it is also the biggest cause of split ends and increased hair breakage. Our advice is to limit the use of heaty styling only to special occasions that too only if you must. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
5. Over Coloring, Perming, Or Relaxing Your Hair
We know there comes a time when we all want to get colouring, relaxing or perming our hair, but we also know that a lot of thought goes into making these decisions. And why is that? Well, cause all of the above does a whole lot of damage to our hair. But don’t get us wrong. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
It’s not like we’re against colouring, perming or relaxing. All we’re saying is go with the 3 Ps i.e. the correct quality product, proportion and professional procedure. Only then can your prevent the hair damage and really feel good about the final outcome. But you know what they say, too much of a good thing can be bad for you so do not, and we repeat, do not over do it!
