Good News As FG Lifts Ban on Interstate Travel and Orders For Safe Re-opening of Schools

The Chairman of the PTF on Covid-19 and Secretary to the Federal Government, Boss Mustapha has announced government's decision to lift the ban placed on Interstate travels and also allow for the safe reopening of schools. According to him, the lift of ban on inter-state travel only include time outside the curfew hours. He also stressed that by safe reopening of schools, it simply refers that only final year students and classes writing promotional exams are allowed to resume in person to enable them prepare for their exams.
Government also ordered local airlines to resume operations. According to the Chairman of PTF, the lift of ban on inter-state travels will be effective from July 1st, 2020. Meanwhile, the phase 2 of the stages in the ease of the nationwide lockdown has been extended by another 4 weeks with just a little modification to allow for interstate travels and safe reopening of schools. The extension is expected to last from 30th June to 27th July, 2020.
Althoughthe number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country is on the increase, the government's decision to lift the ban on Interstate travels and the safe reopening of schools is borne out of necessity.
