Recall that following the court order confirming the suspension of the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole, one of the major actors to the drama, Victor Gaidom obtained a court order confirming that he is chairman of the party. However, in a swift twist, the members of the NWC quickly rubbished Gaidom's claim to the chairmanship of the party and appointed Senator Ajimobi as the Chairman.

However, Victor Gaidom still went ahead and convened a NEC meeting today despite the protests by the NWC members. Interestingly, President Buhari agreed to attend the NEC and mobilized other governors and top official to recognize and attend the NEC meeting. This was seen as a tacit endorsement for the Gaidom's faction of the party. This also got many of the APC governors to agree to the NEC meeting.

1.Dissolved the NWC

2.Resolved to create a Caretaker Committee in the Interim

3.Appointed the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Bumi as the chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the Party.

4.Approved the holding of the National Convention within 6months.

Political observers are keenly watching the development and the implications for the party. While this appears to be a regular leadership tussle for chairmanship, it also has a wider implication for the next presidential elections as the potential gladiators scheme to control the soul of the party.

Also, there were already cracks in the party between the governors loyal to the former Chairman, Adams Oshiomole and those who were strongly opposed to him, especially over his handling of the crisis with the Governor of the Edo State, Governor Obaseki which led to the defection of Obaseki to opposition PDP recently. Indications have also emerged that Obaseki was unanimously nominated as the PDP candidate in the next election.

We are sure that this is not the end of the matter as we follow the developments keenly.

You see no body is God A man outside the contest of the society is either a thin god or a wide beast. To whom the gods wants to kill will first of all be made mad. this is precisely what has happened to the deposed APC emperor Adams Oshiomhole.
