See How Some Nigerians Get "Fooled" By Politicians During Election Period [PICTURES]

Engr.Marshal 06/24/2020

Governments throughout history, and continuing into modern times, have not proved otherwise. Have we not seen our politicians so bedeviled that they literally turn off their consciences to gain political mileage? That is the nature of the game we call politics.

Many of our politicians have lost their moral values to not only a desire for political gain, but also to affluence. "I will never be poor again,” they proclaim, especially on gaining the political power we call government. Power breeds materialism. That being the case, can we truly fault those who, on that discernment, conclude that politics is indeed dirty?

In all political pursuit in Nigeria, there's one thing that unite everyone together most especially when election is fast approaching – Good Food. The masses are hungry and our politicians knows how to use the poverty state of the country perfectly well during election, may God deliver us from their hands.

Indeed, politics is a difficult puzzle that needs great minds to solve it. The fact is, as a politician, every single day you observe how the game is really playing out in the Federal Capital Abuja and beyond. Yet in the middle of all political aspiration in Nigeria, there's one thing that brings us together – Great Food.

Here are how politicians have fooled Nigerians during elections.

1. Ahead of September 10, 2016 Governorship Election in Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, the incumbent Governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and others were noticed eating corn in the public space after patronizing a roadside seller while going on APC campaign rally to market women ahead of the election.

3. See how magnificent this is, seeing the Former Governor of Ekiti state, Governor Fayose can actually take time out from his busy and tight schedule to serve the people of his state food, handing out bags of rice and other edibles to the needy as part of his ‘stomach infrastructure’ programme all by himself.

The truth is, we all need to feed or we will cease to exist! While his humanitarian efforts, to make sure everybody eats, is highly commendable one ought to point out to the governor that if you serve a man a fish a day you’ll end up feeding him for the rest of his life.
