View pictures in App save up to 80% data. Idi Amin was born in 1925 in Circa, Kokobo, West Nile Province, Uganda. He joined the military in 1940. Amin overthrew the current leader through a coup in 1971 and declared himself president, During his regime, he contributed to the collapse of the Ugandan economy with his lavish lifestyle. 


He fought to stay in power no matter what, resulting in extensive human rights violations via mass killings. He was overthrown in 1979 which made him run first to Libya and then to Saudi Arabia, where he died on August 16, 2003. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.


 It was a widely known fact that Idi Amin was a cannibal that ate people, including a widespread belief that he kept the decapitated heads of his political enemies in a freezer, this news came before he boasted that he preferred animal meat to human meat because it's too salty.  View pictures in App save up to 80% data.


There were even reports that he mutilated one of his wives because he suspected she was cheating, a news that spread and was popularised in the 1980 film Rise and Fall of Idi Amin.
