Ajimobi, who was governor from 2011 to 2019, was named the Acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress last week but never resumed.

The former governor was hospitalised at First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultants Hospital, Lagos on June 2, 2020.

He died at First Cardiology hospital after he was admitted with a critical condition.

According to the information gathered, he was said to be in a critical condition due to the Coronavirus complications.

However, the ex-governor could not survive the experience, and thus, gave up the ghost.

This therefore adds to the number of deaths Nigeria has recorded because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We say condolences to the concerned, and the entire family/relatives.
