This is Florence Ajimobi, the lovely wife of the former Governor of Oyo State , Abiola Ajimobi who just recently died. Florence who is now a widow was born on the 5th of April, 1959, in Benin city to the Hajaig family of Lebanon. She grew up in the ancient city of Ibadan, Oyo State.

She began her educational journey at Bodija International School, where she had her primary education and thereafter proceeded to Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School, Ibadan. She studied Secretarial Studies and Management at The Polytechnic Ibadan, where she obtained her university degree.

She is a woman of impeccable character and a lovely woman. When she was the first lady of Oyo State, she stood by her husband and helped him achieve so much , such as Creation of Mini Clinics for Widows and the Aged, Establishment of ICT Center for Women in Public Service, Empowerment of Women of different cadres in the society, Access to Basic medical Care (ABC) FOUNDATION – providing easy access to Basic medical Care.

She is a devoted Christian, but her husband Abiola Ajimobi was a Muslim but their love was more than religion. Because of all her good works, she won many awards for herself.

Her husband Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi was born on 16th December 1949 and died on 25th June 2020 due to COVID-19 symptoms . He was a Nigerian politician from Oyo State, south-western Nigeria. He was formerly the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company, a subsidiary of Shell Petroleum, Nigeria. He was a senator before becoming a Governor. Florence married Abiola Ajimobi in 1980, and their marriage is blessed with five children. May the Gentle soul of Abiola Ajimobi rest in peace.
