Not many gave Chelsea a chance against a rampant Manchester City side at tonight’s game - city had scored 8 goals in their last two games and that’s fiery.

Manchester City stroked the ball from side to side, with their defenders high up the pitch, waiting, probing the Chelsea team to cave in to their well publicized problem this season - their defensive frailties - but it became their own undoing.

While high up the pitch, Guendogan and B. Mendy made an error and Captain America, Christian Pulisic latched in with tenacity, grace and grit dribbled and ran past them and wasn’t intimidated by E.Moraes (City goalkeepers) prowess as he calmly slotted past him at an amazing angle- sheer brilliance (36th minute) 1 - 0

second half, Ngolo Kante fouls at the edge of the box, former Chelsea boy K. De Bruyne steps up and have the Chelsea goalkeeper no chance (he didn’t make much and effort either) and it was all square (55th minute) 1 - 1

62 Nd minute Oliver Giroud was replaced by the more athletic Abraham and Kovacic replaced MR Ross Barkley who shouldn’t have started. It was more energy and aggression from Chelsea as they started pushing and harrying City, and City caved in

77th minute Fernandinho handles the ball on the goal line in attempt to prevent a scoring chance - he forgot he wasn’t the goalkeeper and was reminded about that by the referee with a red card

Willian steps up and made it count 2 - 1 ( 78th minute ) and that was practically game over- with Chelsea more energized and City a man down what more could go wrong. Chelsea should have scored more, but they didn’t

I wondered what Mr. Marcos Alonso was doing on the pitch for the whole of the 95 minutes, but I guess it is understood why Chelsea will break the bank for a left back who can truly offer something to the team.

In the word of Jose Mourinho, Manchester City will now be clowns at Liverpool title party.

Liverpool have won the league after this result. Frank Lampard( Chelsea’s gaffer) before the game said

“I do not mean to spoil the match, but they won it long before today”.

It will be Chelsea heading home knowing they had opened a 5 point gap between themselves and Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wonderers.
