The commissioner of police in Ondo, Salami Amidu, has reacted to the allegation connected to the posting and withdrawal of officers attached to Deputy governor Agboola Ajayi. In reaction to rumours making the rounds that he has a hand in the withdrawal of the deputy governor's security details, Bolaji made it clear that only the Inspector-General of Police has the right to make such a decision, Daily Trust reports. However, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police stated that police officials attached to govt houses takes order from state governor's chief security officers. He said: '...let it be known that policemen attached to Govt Houses take directives from the chief security officer to the governor who can post and withdraw consistent with the reason and purpose that suit him. 'But can not for whatever reason withdraw policemen posted from the force Headquarters to a deputy governor.'

Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on new media, has made some clarifications in connection to membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s National Executive council (NEC).

Ahmad on his Twitter page made it clear that the ruling party's National leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is not a member of the National Executive council (NEC) and as such, he cannot attend the council's meetings. The presidential aide stated: 'There are some people who need to know that the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Party, hence, he doesn’t attend the NEC Meetings. this can be very clear!'
