Man attempted suicide by jumping into Ogun River in Abeokuta [VIDEO]

View pictures in App save up to 80% data. 36-year-old man, Fatai Oyedele, was reported to have attempted killing himself by jumping into Ogun River in Abeokuta.

Ogun River is at Akinolugbade-Brewery axis of Abeokuta North Local Government area of Ogun State 

Our correspondent gathered that the attempted suicide occurred around 1315 hour on Wednesday, 24th of June 2020. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

It was learnt that Oyedele got rescued by officera of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE) Corps, who were controlling traffic in the area.

The Ogun TRACE Corps Public Relations Officer, Babatunde Akinbiyi, has confirmed the ugly incident.

Oyedele, at the time he jumped into the river was with a bottle of sniper. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

He is reportedly residing at Tourist Estate, Obere Atan-Ota, Ogun State.

Nobody knows how the man left the whole Atan-Ota to move to Abeokuta, which is more or less an hour journey, for the suicide mission. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

Oyedele, according to reports, is a clothes seller. He is said to be married a wife with five children.

He said Oyedele “attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the river with sniper in his hand. 

“Our prompt intervention at the scene, evaded what would have been an eventual suicide. 

“He was pulled out of the river and was later taken to Adigbe Police Station for further investigation."
