Tension is rising at Nairobi's Kibra area after an official from the Kenyatta University shocked residents after allegedly dumping a critically ill Covid-19 patient at Olympic Primary School.

According to first hand reports collected by Opera News on the ground via one of the eye witness identified as Otieno, the KNH official arrived with an ambulance at the school leading to a mass gathering of onlookers who wanted to know what was inside.

The official then went on to claim the patient resides in Kibra but it the residents however were left confused as the officer went to say the residents don't know the patient but he insisted he is from the area.

The man alleged to be ill of Covid-19 was then rushed to the Olympic Police Station after the angry mob threatened to beat him up while others were just too confused on whether to be near a suspected patient with some pictured not wearing a face mask.

It took the intervention of OCPD Michael Muchiri who cooled down the curious residents promising that the matter will be looked into.

This happens even as the positive cases continue to hike each day in the country with Kenya already past the 6,000 mark.

It is therefore looking most unlikely on whether the President will remove the already put in place directives such as the curfew and lockdown after the government cited lack of preparedness among counties.

The President's speech is set for July 7.
