From the moment she took the stand, her credibility as a witness was questioned by the eleven senators selected to oversee the impeachment motion of the Kirinyaga Governor. However, she stood her ground, “I;m here to speak on the dilapidated healthcare system in Kirinyaga and on behalf of the four hundred and fifty seven workers who were fired,” she asserted. She then went on to detail several issues regarding her relationship with Wiaguru, “ I have never had a chance to sit down with the CEO of Kirinyaga county to discuss health matters. When you employ a specialist and you do not take their advice you are doing a disservice to yourself, that person and the community in general, “ she revealed. She went on to claim that the doctor-patient ratio in Kirinyaga county stood at 1:30,000, which is almost double the figure quoted by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Chief of staff Nzioka Waita, when he was defending a deal that brought one hundred Cuban doctors to work in Kenya. “To be a surgeon in Kirinyaga, you have to be a snake wrangler first,” she stated during the hearing. A feisty one like her has quite a bit of history. Dr. Gor holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery and was the one who led threats to withdraw doctors from the Kerugoya Referral Hospital in Kirinyaga county due to facility’s deplorable state in May 2019.
