Coronavirus is a global pandemic that has greatly affected the whole world. Kenya is one of the countries that has been greatly affected by the virus. President Uhuru Kenyatta closed down all the learning institutions in the country as a way of controlling the spread of the virus.

President Uhuru Kenyatta said during his last address to the Nation that the schools will be reopened in the month of September. He also advised the Ministry of Education to prepare a new calendar by mid-August before allowing the students back in school.

Professor George Magoha gave the latest updates concerning the reopening of schools and it was echoed through a Tweet by the Teachers Update. The Tweet read that Professor Magoha said that the schools will not be reopened if the coronavirus cases will continue to increase in the country on a daily basis.

This is indeed a major blow to the reopening of the schools because it shows that the schools may not be reopened in September as many people had thought. It is also a major blow to the KCPE and the KCSE candidates because their time to do the National examinations will continue to be pushed further and further.

It is also a blow to the reopening of schools because it shows that even the Ministry of Education is not sure when the schools will be reopened considering the fact that the coronavirus cases are still being reported in the country on a daily basis. The parents and students should continue staying calm until a proper solution is found for the virus.
