Ruto Joins Uhuru's Meeting To Discuss The Date The Economy Is Set To Be Reopened

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto have not been in good term for the better part of their second term in office. The genesis of this can be drawn back from the Uhuru-Raila political handshake earlier in 2018 shortly after the country had cooled down. Ever since, the two top Jubilee Party leaders have seen to it that the ruling party is divided into Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke. Over this Coronavirus pandemic moment, a portion of Kenyans have been questioning the absence of DP Ruto from crucial cabinet meetings as well as press conferences.

Despite all these, there relationship seems to have taken a drastic u-turn exactly after the annual Madaraka day celebrations on 1st June. The two would later meet in a Jubilee Parliamentary Group Meeting in Statehouse a day after despite Uhuru axing Ruto's allies in the presence of the DP. The two also met this Monday in a crucial meeting that so the end of Duale's 7 years rule as the leader of majority in the parliament. The two have also met today, though through Zoom.

This is according to an official statement from State House. The meeting too consisted county governors. The main theme of the meeting seemed to determine the level of readiness of each county towards a later move by President Uhuru to re-open the economy. Each county governor seems to have been tasked by Uhuru to improve the health sector inorder for the economy of Kenya to be reopen after it was brought to a stand still by the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
