The Building Bridges Initiative taskforce led by Garissa Senator Yusuf Hajji is set to present the final Building Bridges Initiative document to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Former Prime minister on Tuesday after the mandate of the taskforce is set to expire on 30th June Tuesday, the following two factors could however prevent Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga from receiving the long awaited document.
The first factor is the absence of Former Prime minister Raila Odinga who is currently in Dubai after he underwent a minor back surgery last week, it has however been established that the former Prime minister is recovering well but it is uncertain when Raila Odinga will jet into the country.
If Raila Odinga is not in the country by Tuesday then Uhuru Kenyatta might not receive the final Building Bridges document because it was a project initiated by the two leaders and it should be received by the two leaders.
Another factor that could delay the handing over of the document to Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga on Tuesday is due to reports that Nairobi statehouse is currently on lockdown after some staffs tested positive for COVID-19.
This could therefore prevent Uhuru from receiving the final BBI document at statehouse Nairobi on Tuesday when the taskforce is expected to present the document.
