Huge Blow to MP Waluke After Court Ruling

Sirisia Mp Major John Walukhe has survived by a whisker after the court ruled that he and his co-accused Judith Wakhungu pay Sh594 million fine or spend 7 years in prison.

In a ruling made my judge Elizabeth Juma at the Milimani law courts, the two have been given 14 days to appeal if they wish. On Monday, Judge Juma ruled that Walukhe and his co-accused businesswoman Grace Wakhungu are guilty of fraud, having received Sh300 million from the National Cereals and Produce Board, NCPB in 2004.

She ordered them remanded at Kileleshwa Police Station until Friday, June 25, which is today, when they were sentenced. Mp Walukhe who was accused of uttering a false document has in the past tried to stop his trial over the multi-million-shilling fraud case. Ms. Wakhungu was listed as the director of Erant General Suppliers, a company that was involved in the whole scam.
