Today, 25 June, a video has been making rounds on social media captured from a CCTV camera in Kilimani area showing a well-dressed man being confronted at gunpoint by two young individuals who made away with his bag-pack and belongings from his pockets.

Both young men had handguns and they had their faces covered which could not be seen on the footage. Their age cannot be known but seem to be in their early 20s.

Netizens took to social media to protests against the broad daylight robbery and tagged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who state that their detectives around the area are doing the investigation on the incident and pursuing leads to the individuals.

''@DCI_Kenya Detectives based at Kilimani are in receipt of this footage and have commenced investigations to bring the culprits to book. Thank you for sharing this.'' DCI posted on its official Twitter account.

Netizens on social media said that there has been an increase in such incidents and security should be beefed up across various neighborhoods across Nairobi and its environs.

Here are some of the comments shared.

Kab Kam, ''Nairobi turning into a den of robbers. At the top govt is robbing wananchi through CS Macharia & at the bottom petty criminals robbing their fellow robbed countrymen/women. All this as Wanjohi concentrates his mind on how to silence anyone with guts to speak out. Long live Kenya!''

Frank Kirigi, ''Replying to @DCI_Kenya @Ma3Route and @ngetichfred Kilimani exclusivity and reputation as a leafy suburb and neighborhood is fast being eroded .. beyond insecurity look at the infrastructure. Chania, Avenue off Marcus Garvey road. Its embarrassingly dilapidated.''

Chelsea Chemweno, ''Get to know what made them do this. Remember COVID_19 has taken a toll on everyone's life and everyone is just trying to survive. Anyway, y'all stay safe.''

Shedy, ''The Day Light Robbery in Kilimani is just a snippet of what happens when the Govt Deliberately Decide to Neglect the Youth. People out here are Jobless, Broke, Hungry, Desperate & are willing to do anything to Make ends meet. Meanwhile, Old Billionaires are getting Govt Jobs.''
