Just In: Security Chiefs, Leaders Hold Peace Meeting at Lessos After Ugly Protest (Photos)

According to Emoo FM radio, security chiefs and local leaders are holding peace meeting at Lessos market in Nandi county following the ugly protest after the fatal shooting of 3 people yesterday.

The meeting is currently underway at Olessos market centre. The leaders who are present include; Governor Stephen Sang, area MCA Emmanuel Mengech, Kapsabet MCA Fred Kipkemboi, Tinderet MCA Kipkirui Chepkwony, Nandi Hills MCA Gideon Koech and other local area leaders.

At the moment, County area Commissioner Kutswa Olaka is having a close door meeting with Deputy AG at Olessos Technical. They will join the public later to address them at Olessos market on security matters following yesterday's commotion.

Earlier, Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai ordered the immediate arrest and interdiction of the police officer who was involved in the shooting of the 40-year-old man at Lessos, Nandi county due to not having a face mask.

The incident made the angry crowd to further destroy the area police station and torched the house of a senior officer. The incident also led to the further killing of two more people.

Mutyambai stated, “Whereas we regret the loss of lives and remind all police officers that none is allowed to take the law into their own hands, we also request that our dear citizens uphold all our laws and cooperate with us towards a more secure country.”

This peace Meeting doesn't help at all since it's being held under duress which could have been avoided in the first place. The Government don't listen to Public Complaints but they understand the situation when Conflicts have arisen resulting in loss of Lives.
