Facts about the Kabras Luhya subtribe from Malava
Kabras is the subtribe of Luhya community who hail in Kenya. Kabras people reside in Malava area of Kakamega county. They are neighboured by the Isukha, Banyala, Tsotso and the Tachoni.
Kabras clans were named after the heads of the families which are; Basonje, Abashu, Bamachina, Avasira and Avatali among many other head of clans.
Before the colonial era, Kabras were under the rulership of Nabongo Mumia, the King of Wanga Luhya subtribe. The last known elder in the King's council was Soita Libukana Samaramarami.Kabras subtribe of Luhya community are said to have originally been Banyala.
