Nyeri town is the largest capital city of Nyeri county. The town became particularly associated with the Happy Valley set in the first half of 20th century. The main industries in the town are; Milk processing industry, tea and coffee processing industries, fruit juice bottling plant and coca cola bottling plant industries.

There are attraction sites in the cemetry like the Robet Baden Powell's grave and his wife. This was the resting place of Lieutenant General Lord a British Commander in the Boer war and the founder of the Scouting Movement. Many people visit the place to learn much about the history of the town.
There are also visitors to the Italian War Memorial Chapel at Mathari built in 1952 by the Italian government. The chapel was built in honor of the Italian Army Soldiers and prisoners of war from the time of the second World War. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
Nyeri town is also the burial place of hunter and conservationist Jim Carbett the author of the Man-Eaters of Kumaon. It is also the hometown of the late Nobel Laurette Wangari Maathai.
