Just In: EC Boss has Spoken about the Voters Registration Exercise Tomorrow and all you Need to Know

Finally the most talked about new Voters Registration have seen the light of the day as it comes off tomorrow 30th June, 2020.

The Chairperson met the press moments ago which was monitored by Net2 TV and she has given a brief statement concerning the exercise tomorrow.

According to Mrs. Jean Mensah, with the robustness of the kits and the extensive training offered, each applicant should not spend more than ten minutes in registration.

Again she said, over five thousand (5000) technicians have been deployed to the field and zonal centres have been set up to ensure timely replacement of faulty kits. This is to enhance easy and seamless registration exercise.

She further stated, the registration will take place simultaneously in all the 16 Regions in Ghana for 30 days and additional 6 days will be added for mop up. The commission have published the movement plan on their website for all and sundry to visit and ascertain the movement plan to know when the registration team will visit their registration centre.

Madam Jean Mensah continued to say, transparency has been embedded to the process to alley fear and anxiety of all stake holders.

Therefore, the kit will be shown to a third party of each political party agent, to know the number of people that have registered and print out the number of people that registered each day. Each Political party would be given a copy of the print out.

The kit shows the date, time and record of number of persons registered. The Electoral Commission will forward the the same copy to its data base.

The exercise will be observed by a good number of observers group. This will further strengthen the process. Security agencies have also been deployed to help enable peaceful registration exercise.

The EC Boss finally thanked all stake holders and good people of Ghana for their Support.
