Press Statement: GWCL Announces End Of Free Water Package

The Ghana Water Company Limited, says it will on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 end the free water package announced by President Akufo-Addo some few months ago.

Due to the deadly Coronavirus pandemic the President Nana Akufo-Addo announced that as part of measures to release burdens on Ghanaians his government will absorbed water and electricity for three months. 

Per this directives Ghanaians will enjoy free water in their homes without paying for it as they use to pay. 

However, in a statement from the Ghana Water Company Limited says the package of free water delivery ends on Tuesday. 

It reads

The month of June marks the end of the government directive to Ghana Water Company Limited to serve Ghanaians with water for free as part of measures to curb the spread of covid- 19 pandemic. Customers of GWCL must please note, that from hence, the payment of water bills will be the responsibility of the customer.
