Supreme Court Rejects the Bid of NDC to use the existing voters ID to compile the new voters Id
The Supreme Court of Ghana has unanimously rejects the National Democratic Congress (NDC) bid to be using existing voter's register as authentication for the compilation of a New Voter's registration.
View pictures in App save up to 80% data. Reporting live from the Court, Sompa FM correspondent indicated that the Judges unanimously held up the submissions and evidence of the Electoral Commission of Ghana which sought to dispute the claims of the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC.
They had argued that there are many ghost names on the register, again many foreigners have the old voter's register which they can use to invade the new register should it be used as a basis of authentication. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
After weeks of battling it out, the Supreme Court has quashed the NDC out and given the Electoral Commission of Ghana the green light to ignore anybody that comes to a registration centre with old voter's identification card to register.
Ghanaians can use birth cert,passport or look for guarantors to get themselves registered.
